Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an immediate, empathetic response to emotional distress or crises. It involves active listening and reassurance to help individuals feel safe and supported. PFA emphasizes promoting resilience and coping strategies during challenging times, offering timely and compassionate assistance for mental and emotional well-being. SCEW offered a series of training opportunities in PFA to the community by collaborating with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
SCEW conducted workshops and awareness sessions for IISER intending to create a strong foundation of mental health awareness on campus. Sessions on mental health sensitization and workshops on Psychological First Aid were conducted for their staff, students and faculty. These initiatives help the stakeholders identify signs of psychological distress and offer humane, supportive and practical assistance to those in need.
To equip mental health professionals, teachers, principals, and supervisors with the knowledge and skills to facilitate healthy student culture on their respective campuses, SCEW conducts workshops and ‘train the trainer’ programs for the stakeholders of different colleges.
